Purpose and stakeholder governance statement

Clean Slate exists to provide a consistently excellent, totally reliable cleaning service for organisations.

Integral to this is excellence in the treatment of our people who deliver our service; having a beneficial impact on the communities in which we serve; and having a positive impact on the environment we depend on.

We believe in:

We balance the long-term interests of shareholders with the interests of employees, customers, suppliers, communities, and the environment. We believe this stakeholder led approach creates long term value.

Clean Slate commits to making operational and governance decisions in line with Certified B Corporation (B Corp) principles, to be ethical, transparent, and accountable. We continuously measure and improve our impact.

Stakeholder Led Governance

In accordance with Section 172 of the Companies Act 2006, Directors act in good faith to promote the success of the company for the benefit of its members as a whole, while having regard to:

Clean Slate will go further by formalising stakeholder governance directly in its governing documents in 2027 as part of its pursuit of B Corp certification.

Stakeholder Commitments

Employees and Workers
We commit to fair, safe and inclusive working conditions, open communication, and development for every member of our team. We provide clarity on terms, pay and cancellation notice. Employee feedback is actively sought and considered in decision-making that affects working practices, culture, and organisational change.

Customers
We aim to provide the best value high quality cleaning services. We act honestly and with transparent pricing, seeking long term relationships based on trust, service quality, and continuous improvement.

Suppliers and Partners
We prioritise working with suppliers and partners who share our values, including ethical behaviour, environmental responsibility, and legal compliance. We build collaborative relationships that promote shared value and resilience across the supply chain.

Communities and the Environment
We contribute positively to the communities in which we operate. We consider environmental and social impacts in business decisions and commit to improving our performance over time.

Shareholders
We deliver sustainable, long-term financial performance while upholding our responsibilities to all stakeholders. We believe strong environmental, social, and governance practices reduce risk and support lasting shareholder value.

Oversight, Transparency, and Continuous Improvement

The Directors are responsible for ensuring that Clean Slate’s purpose and stakeholder commitments are embedded into its governance, strategy, and culture. Management is accountable for implementing policies, tracking performance, and reporting outcomes.

Stakeholders can raise a concern about Clean Slate’s conduct or impact through our published grievance procedure, which sets out how concerns are received, investigated and resolved. This statement is reviewed at least annually by the Directors.

Responsible lobbying and public policy

Clean Slate does not lobby government, employ lobbyists or make political donations. If that ever changes, we will engage only to advance positive social or environmental outcomes, consistent with our purpose, and we will be open about what we do.

Our Responsible Lobbying and Public Policy Engagement Policy sets out the principles we follow, how any engagement is approved by our Managing Director, and how we report on it each year.

Lobbying and political contributions statement 2026

This statement covers the twelve months to 30 September 2026.

Lobbying activity
Clean Slate carried out no lobbying activity during the period. We did not respond to any government consultations, and we did not employ or engage lobbyists or public affairs consultants.

Political contributions
Clean Slate made no financial or in-kind contributions to political parties, candidates, elected representatives or political campaigns.

Trade and membership bodies
Clean Slate is a member of the East Midlands Chamber, which engages with government on behalf of its members. We have reviewed the Chamber’s public policy positions against our purpose and have not identified any material conflict.

Raising a concern
If you are concerned that Clean Slate is not following its policy, please raise it through our grievance procedure.
