Locally managed office cleaning across the Midlands, Cambridgeshire & South Yorkshire

A clean, well-maintained workplace creates a better environment for employees, visitors and customers. You need a cleaning provider that delivers consistently and responds quickly when you need support.
Clean Slate has been delivering commercial cleaning since 1983. Every contract is managed by a local manager from our nearest office, in Derby, Nuneaton or Cambridge, who visits your site, inspects the work and is there when you need them.
A manager from your nearest office carries out routine inspections, supports the cleaning team on site and works closely with you.
An emergency number manned 24/7 by a contracts manager, and local management ready to cover when extra support is needed.
We take responsibility for delivering the service you pay for. Every hour you pay for is an hour we pay a cleaner to deliver.
Your contracts manager writes a cleaning schedule for your site and agrees it with you: the rooms, the daily and weekly tasks, the chemicals and equipment, the consumables and any site rules. It is completely bespoke.
Every team member, including relief cover, is inducted to every item on your schedule. A manager stays with them for the whole first shift, and they sign an induction form to confirm. New cleaners also follow our STAR+ training, with a check on day 2 and assessments at weeks 2, 6 and 12.
A manager visits and audits your site at least every four weeks, scoring every item on your schedule. For a new contract, and for any new team member, we visit weekly for the first six weeks. The lower a site’s grade, the more often we visit, and if we spot a problem with standards we visit sooner.
Our Business Services Director, who is independent of the operations team, carries out random full contract reviews: repeating the site audit to check the manager’s marks are accurate, checking the schedule, stock and equipment on site, reviewing six months of records, speaking to team members and asking you directly how we’re doing. Every review is scored, and our managers are rewarded on how well their sites perform.
Every new team member is trained and assessed on five elements:
Every item on the cleaning specification is scored from 0 to 4.
We audit ourselves in exactly the same way. A routine audit of our own Derby office scores 135 individual items across eight areas.
From our offices in Derby, Nuneaton and Cambridge, we look after over 200 sites across the Midlands, Cambridgeshire and South Yorkshire. We only take on sites where we can maintain regular site presence and effective management, so the service stays as good as it should be.
